Insurance for Individuals Under 65

If you are in the market for health insurance for you or your family, then here are some things that you may need to know.

First of all, under the Affordable Care Act laws, people under the age of 26 may stay on their parents’ plans. For some people that is a great option, but for others, there may be a better option.

With the new healthcare laws, pre-existing is no longer a factor. Your premiums are only based on your age, your demographics and whether you smoke or don’t smoke.

In addition, if you have a household of four family members and your gross income is below $70,000 you may qualify for a tax credit. This tax credit is paid each month to the insurance carrier of your choice for your health insurance policy.

Insurance Management for Families

Unlike before, if you are self-employed or looking to venture out into the entrepreneur world, you now are not bound to a job that you hate just because you are worried about not having health insurance! Take that leap of faith and know that you can get a health insurance plan that is comparable to your previous employer plan.

Open enrollment for 2021 is November 1st through December 15th. There are a few plans that will be discontinued for 2021. Whether your plan is being discontinued or not, it is always a good idea for you to review your coverage and decide if your current plan is going to cover your current medical needs for the upcoming year. Also if you want 2021 subsidies you must update your application, we can help you with those options free at no cost to you.

If you qualify for a special enrollment, you can enroll in a plan now. Such circumstances include: marriage, divorce, leaving a job, getting a new job, change in income, being denied through Medicaid, moving, or losing group coverage either voluntarily or involuntarily. If you are unsure whether you qualify for a special enrollment, call us and we can help.
